i'm still here!

i'm still here... is anyone still kicking around?

adam is going to be 3 months old on wednesday.  time is flying at warp speed and i'd do just about anything to slow it down.  i think of my american friends often having to go back to work so quickly and feel very lucky every day to have a full year off with our little man.

adam is babbling up a storm these days.  he's about as chunky as a 3 month old can be.  he weighed in at 13.5lbs at his 2 month check in and i'm dying to see where he's at now (next dr. appt is this wed).   he's delightfully rolly and chunky and when he smiles at me, nothing else matters!  he's teased us with many nights of sleeping through the night only to follow them up with a night where he's up 8 or more times.  such is the life of a new mom...sigh.

i've been spending my time being his mom and nearly no time on the computer and its been nice.  that said, its been awesome catching up with all of you as well.  i've still got a bunch of you to check in on.  i'm going to try to catch up with everyone a little more frequently now (we have a new computer which makes everything a lot easier).

we're in heavy talks for baby number 2 already.  turning 40 is no longer that far off.  november 1 will be here before i know it so we've got to get some plans in motion.   i'm meeting with dr. love briefly in august to talk about when the best time for our FET is and what i should be doing between now and then to get my body ready for the roller coaster of pregnancy again (hopefully!).   we don't plan on actually doing a FET until sometime in feb/2012 as i'm going to continue breastfeeding until the end of oct and then i'm going to give my body a well deserved break (and fill it with as much beer and wine as i can for a few months!) before we throw ourselves back into trying.

so, all in all, life is good.  no, its fantastic!

  1. I've been wondering how you've been and figured silence meant all was well! Glad that you're back and blogging. I cannot even fathom no 2 yet, although I'm really sad that the baby is growig so fast and is no longer considered a newborn. An FeT in feb is not far off. Meanwhile I like your plan f giving your body a few months of rest + beer + wine, sounds like a great plan. I have 2 frozen embryos that we'll probably use in mid 2012 ... Picture updates please! Xoxo.

  2. Glad to hear things are going so well, Lisa. Little Adam sounds amazing! So glad to hear that you are planning for your second child, and that there will be some wine and beer in the in-between.
Sending you a big hug, dear woman.

  4. I'm delighted that you're too busy enjoying life to update us more often, and also so glad to hear all is well. I particularly love hearing from you because it's often a little preview of what Bun Bun will be up to. I'm doing my best to savor the present, but also looking forward to things like babbling. ANYWAY, I'm betting A. will weigh in at 87 pounds...

  5. I meant to say I'll let you know about the swaddle strap when I get mine...I'm hopeful! I also keep waking up to find Bun Bun has wriggled her swaddle over her FACE, which scares the hell out of me. I'm hoping this device will prevent that maneuver.

  6. Hurrah! I love your life! It is exactly perfect, huh? There is nothing like a chunky baby to make it all roll by in perfect color and harmony. Thank you for the update. I get greedy. I miss me some A-man updates.

I had to roll out of BF sooner than I wanted (though honestly, not sure my body was going to keep squeeking out my miserable 8-10/day) to get ready for Baby 2. You sound excited about it. Hold on to that! If you could just bottle up what you feel today to pull it out later. Flag this post - you sound like a million bucks.

  7. I'm so glad everything is going well-- in response to your question, P is now 5.5 months, and everything is just happening FASTER and FASTER. I couldn't imagine sitting at 3 months, and now I suddenly can't imagine her NOT sitting. I wish time didn't slip by so fast too. I hope everything goes very smoothly for baby #2... I am sure you'll keep us posted (I hope!).

  8. Lisa, so glad to read this update. It sounds like things are going wonderfully and like Adam is doing great - so very, very glad that you get the year off to be with him. (And glad that you are thinking about next steps...but ESPECIALLY glad that you're going to give yourself a couple of months off:)
